Terms of Service
Terms governing access to and use of Star OS services.
Last updated: July 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (the Terms) form an agreement between you and Star OS (Star OS, we, us, or our). They govern your access to and use of the Star OS website, Console, APIs, documentation, models, and related support and developer services (collectively, the Services).
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, or accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services for a company or another organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation; in that case, you and your refer to that organisation and its authorised users. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Services, our business, or applicable law changes. The Last updated date shows when they were most recently revised. For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Console, by email, or through another reasonable channel. Unless we state otherwise, revised Terms take effect when posted. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least the age of legal majority where you live and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Services. You must provide accurate, current account information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for all activity occurring through your account, Projects, API keys, and credentials, including activity by users you invite or otherwise allow to access a Project. You must:
- keep passwords, access tokens, and API keys confidential;
- use reasonable security measures to protect your account and any systems that call our APIs;
- promptly revoke a key and notify Star OS through the Console support channel if you suspect unauthorised access, a credential compromise, or misuse; and
- ensure that each person using a Project is authorised to do so and complies with these Terms.
Do not share individual account credentials. API keys are project credentials: treat them as secrets, scope access appropriately, and do not embed them in public client-side code or repositories.
3. Projects and administrators
The Services organise API access, model profiles, usage, credits, and billing by Project. A Project administrator may invite members, remove members, create and revoke API keys, configure model access, view project usage, and manage payment methods and credits. Project administrators are responsible for the actions of the Project’s members and for ensuring that their access remains appropriate.
Project members may be able to see Project configuration, usage, billing information, API keys or their metadata, and request-related information according to their assigned access. Do not add a person to a Project unless you are comfortable giving them that level of visibility and authority.
4. Permission to use the Services
Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Star OS grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable right to access and use the Services for your personal or internal business purposes during the period your account remains active. This permission includes use of the documentation solely to develop and operate an integration with the Services.
The Services are provided as a hosted platform. Except for the limited permission above, Star OS and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Services, including the software, platform, documentation, interfaces, designs, trademarks, and associated intellectual property. No right is granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
5. API integrations and your end users
You may use approved Star OS APIs to connect your application, product, or service (your Customer Application) to the Services. You are responsible for your Customer Application, its users, and how it uses generated results. In particular, you must:
- comply with the documentation, applicable rate limits, and any model-specific requirements;
- keep API credentials on trusted server-side infrastructure and prevent unauthorised use;
- provide your own end users with legally required notices and obtain any permissions needed for their use of your Customer Application;
- ensure your end users do not use the Services through your Customer Application in a manner that violates these Terms or applicable law; and
- not represent that Star OS endorses, operates, or is responsible for your Customer Application.
You may not use the Services to offer a competing hosted model-routing, model-access, or API-resale service without Star OS’s prior written permission. You may not expose a Project API key directly to an untrusted end-user environment.
6. Inputs, outputs, and AI services
The Services allow you to submit prompts, messages, data, files, code, and other material (Input) to obtain text or other results (Output). Between you and Star OS, you retain any rights you have in your Input. You grant Star OS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to host, copy, transmit, process, and otherwise use Input as necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the Services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
You are solely responsible for Input and for ensuring that you have all rights, permissions, notices, and lawful bases required to submit and process it through the Services. Do not submit information that you are not authorised to disclose, including personal data, confidential information, or third-party intellectual property, unless your use complies with applicable law and your agreements with the relevant people or organisations.
Subject to these Terms, you may use Output for your lawful purposes. AI systems are probabilistic: Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, offensive, non-unique, or similar to output provided to other users. It may include fabricated statements or fail to reflect current information. You must independently review Output before using, publishing, relying on, or making it available to others. Do not rely on Output as a substitute for qualified professional advice in high-impact contexts, including medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, employment, credit, insurance, housing, education, or law-enforcement decisions.
Star OS does not promise that Output is original, available for your exclusive use, non-infringing, or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for determining whether your use of Input and Output is appropriate for your situation.
7. Acceptable use
You must use the Services lawfully and responsibly. You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:
- violate applicable law or another person’s rights, including privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or data-protection rights;
- generate, facilitate, promote, or distribute unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, or abusive content;
- use the Services to exploit, endanger, or sexually exploit minors, or to create unlawful non-consensual intimate content;
- create or deploy malware, phishing, credential theft, spam, denial-of-service activity, or other security threats;
- bypass rate limits, payment controls, safety measures, access restrictions, or technical protections;
- interfere with, overload, damage, or disrupt the Services, their infrastructure, or another user’s access;
- use automated means to scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data from the Services except through documented APIs and within the applicable limits;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, modify, create derivative works of, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code or underlying components of the Services, except where applicable law prohibits this restriction;
- remove proprietary notices, impersonate another person or organisation, or falsely suggest that an Output or Customer Application is endorsed by Star OS; or
- use the Services, Inputs, Outputs, or underlying model access to train, develop, or improve a competing model or service when prohibited by applicable model, provider, or service terms.
We do not have an obligation to monitor every Input or Output. However, we may investigate suspected violations, restrict or remove access, preserve information where legally required, and cooperate with lawful requests from authorities or rights holders.
8. Credits, pricing, taxes, and payment
Star OS currently uses project-based prepaid credits for model usage. A purchase of credits is associated with the Project selected at the time of purchase. API usage, model charges, credit balances, payment history, and billing records remain associated with that Project and are not shared automatically with other Projects.
Model pricing, rate limits, and available models are shown in the Console and our documentation and may vary by model or feature. Usage is measured using the applicable request and model metrics, such as input and output tokens. You are responsible for maintaining a sufficient credit balance for each Project that uses the Services. If a Project has insufficient credits, requests may be rejected, limited, or suspended until its balance is replenished.
We currently support the payment methods presented in the Console, which may include credit card and supported stablecoin payments. Payment processing may be provided by third parties and is subject to their applicable terms. By submitting a payment method or initiating a stablecoin payment, you authorise the relevant payment provider or network to process the transaction and confirm that you are entitled to use that method.
Unless required by applicable law or expressly agreed by Star OS in writing, purchased credits are non-refundable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be transferred between Projects or accounts. Promotional credits may have separate conditions or expiry dates. Prices exclude taxes, duties, levies, and similar governmental charges unless expressly stated otherwise; you are responsible for all amounts due other than taxes based on Star OS’s net income.
We may change prices, model availability, or rate limits prospectively. The pricing shown before a new charge is incurred will govern that charge unless an error is obvious.
9. Third-party models and services
The Services may make models, infrastructure, payment services, authentication services, or other technology provided by third parties available to you. Those third parties may impose additional terms, usage restrictions, or technical requirements. Their availability and performance are outside our direct control.
Star OS is not responsible for third-party materials, outages, changes, or claims, except to the extent required by applicable law. We may add, change, limit, or remove a third-party model or service where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, technical reasons, commercial availability, or platform operation.
10. Service availability, changes, and support
We work to operate the Services reliably, but do not guarantee that they will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Maintenance, updates, demand spikes, third-party issues, and events outside our reasonable control may affect availability. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups, safeguards, and business-continuity plans appropriate for your use case.
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services, including models, features, APIs, pricing, and rate limits. Where practical, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes. Support, if available, is provided through the channels described in the Console and is not a promise of a particular response time or service level unless separately agreed in writing.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access to all or part of the Services if we reasonably believe that:
- you have breached these Terms, failed to pay applicable fees, or provided inaccurate account information;
- your use creates a security, legal, reputational, or operational risk for Star OS, our users, or a third party;
- we are required to do so by law, a regulator, a court, or a provider; or
- your use is fraudulent, abusive, excessive, or threatens the integrity or availability of the Services.
Where appropriate, we will try to give notice and an opportunity to cure before suspension. We may act immediately without notice when we reasonably believe prompt action is needed to protect people, data, the Services, or legal rights. On termination, your right to use the Services ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including those regarding payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and disputes, will survive.
12. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, comments, or other feedback about the Services, you grant Star OS a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. Please do not provide feedback that you consider confidential.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and Output are provided as is and as available. Star OS and its licensors disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and freedom from viruses or other harmful components.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a warranty, condition, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Star OS and its affiliates, licensors, suppliers, and personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from or relating to the Services or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Star OS’s total liability for all claims arising from or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to Star OS for the Services giving rise to the claim during the twelve months before the event giving rise to liability. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Star OS, its affiliates, licensors, and their respective personnel from and against claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your Input, your Customer Application, your use of the Services or Output, your end users, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law. Star OS may assume control of the defence of a claim at your expense, and you will reasonably cooperate with that defence.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information. If you provide personal information through the Services, you are responsible for ensuring that you have provided any required notices and obtained any necessary permissions.
17. General terms
These Terms, together with any order form or written agreement signed by Star OS and you, are the entire agreement between you and Star OS about the Services. If a signed written agreement conflicts with these Terms, that agreement controls to the extent of the conflict.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. Star OS may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation, or sale of assets. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. You and Star OS are independent contractors; these Terms do not create a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship.
18. Contact
For questions about these Terms, please contact Star OS through the support channel in the Console.
